Product Introduction

Basalt Fiber Woven Fabrics are advanced composite materials engineered from continuous basalt filaments, derived from natural volcanic basalt rock. These fabrics exhibit exceptional thermal stability (operating range: -260°C to 800°C), superior chemical resistance (acid/alkali/UV tolerance), and lightweight durability (20-30% lighter than fiberglass with equivalent strength).

Key Applications:
  • Construction: Reinforcement for concrete structures, tunnel linings, and seismic retrofitting
  • Transportation: Automotive/aviation components (e.g., interior panels, engine mounts) to reduce weight and enhance fuel efficiency
  • Industrial: Fireproof curtains, insulation for pipelines, and electromagnetic shielding
  • Aerospace: Lunar mission materials (e.g., China's Chang'e-6 probe flag) due to extreme temperature resilience

Manufacturing Process
1. Raw Material Processing

Basalt rock is crushed and melted at 1,450-1,500°C using platinum-rhodium alloy bushings to produce continuous fibers (diameter: 5-25 µm).

2. Weaving

Fibers are woven into plain, twill, or satin patterns using high-precision looms, adjustable for widths (1-3 m) and weights (100-2,126 g/m²).

3. Surface Treatment

Coated with silane or sizing agents to improve adhesion, UV resistance, and flexibility.

4. Quality Control

ISO 9001-certified testing for tensile strength (3,000-4,800 MPa), thermal stability, and corrosion resistance.

Usage Precautions
Mechanical Handling

Avoid sharp tools or excessive bending during installation to prevent fiber breakage.

Chemical Exposure

Resistant to most acids/alkalis but avoid prolonged contact with strong oxidizers (e.g., concentrated sulfuric acid).

Thermal Management

Prevent rapid temperature shifts to avoid thermal shock cracking; use in dry conditions.

Storage

Store in ventilated, dry areas; avoid folding under tension to prevent creasing.

Emergency Measures

If damaged, cut damaged sections and splice using high-temperature adhesive or replace entire panels.
