Product Description
Fiberglass Direct Roving: Precision Reinforcement For Diverse Composite Applications
Product Introduction

Fiberglass Direct Roving is a high-performance reinforcement material engineered for structural composites requiring exceptional strength, corrosion resistance, and process versatility. Composed of continuous E-glass filaments with a silane-based sizing, it ensures superior adhesion to resins like polyester, vinyl ester, and epoxy. Designed for filament winding, pultrusion, and weaving, this product delivers consistent fiber alignment and minimal fuzz, making it ideal for marine, energy, and industrial applications where durability and precision are critical.

Manufacturing Process
Step Description
Fiber Formation Molten glass is drawn into continuous filaments (13-30 microns) through bushings.
Sizing Application Filaments are coated with a silane-based sizing agent to enhance resin compatibility.
Direct Roving Untwisted fiber bundles are wound into roving packages using automated systems.
Quality Control Parameters like tex (200-9,600), tensile strength (≥3,000 MPa), and uniformity are verified.
Packaging Wound rovings are stored on pallets or in moisture-proof cartons for transport.
Usage Precautions
  • Storage: Maintain dry, cool conditions (15-35°C) with humidity <65% to prevent fiber degradation.
  • Chemical Resistance: Compatible with polyester, epoxy, and vinyl ester resins; avoid contact with strong acids or solvents.
  • Handling: Wear PPE (gloves, goggles) to prevent fiber irritation; use sharp cutting tools to minimize fraying.
  • Temperature Limits: Operational range: -50°C to 150°C; avoid prolonged exposure to >180°C unless specified.
