Product Introduction

Glass Fiber Needle Felt is a non-woven composite material engineered for exceptional thermal insulation, sound absorption, and mechanical durability. Composed of inorganic glass fibers bonded through a needle-punching process, it offers a lightweight yet robust solution for high-temperature environments. Production Process
Step Description
Material Preparation Glass fiber rovings are cut into specific lengths (1.5-3 inches) for uniform distribution.
Binder Application Fibers are bonded using polyester, epoxy, or PTFE binders for structural integrity.
Needle Punching Barbed needles mechanically interlock fibers to form a dense, non-woven mat.
Curing Heat treatment activates binder curing, ensuring dimensional stability.
Quality Control Parameters like weight (30-500 gsm), thickness (2-25 mm), and thermal resistance are tested.
 
Usage Precautions
  • Storage: Keep in dry, cool environments (15-35°C) away from humidity and direct sunlight.
  • Temperature Limits: Operate within -40°C to 850°C (short-term exposure up to 1000°C for high-grade variants).
  • Chemical Compatibility: Resistant to oils, fuels, and solvents; avoid contact with strong alkalis or acids.
  • Handling: Wear PPE (gloves, masks) to prevent fiber irritation; use sharp tools for cutting.
