1. Product Introduction

Basalt Fiber Geogrid is a semi-rigid geosynthetic material engineered from high-strength basalt fibers, woven into a grid structure and coated with asphalt or polymer for enhanced durability.

  • Superior Strength: High tensile strength in both warp/weft directions (up to 300 kN/m) with low elongation (<3%)
  • Extreme Durability: Resists temperatures from -260°C to 800°C, UV exposure, and chemical corrosion

2. Manufacturing Process
  1. Raw Material Preparation: Basalt rock is melted at 1,450-1,500°C and drawn into continuous fibers
  2. Weaving: Fibers are warp-knitted into grid patterns using advanced biaxial looms
  3. Coating: Surface treated with asphalt, polymer, or silane for adhesion and weather resistance
  4. Quality Control: Tensile strength, thermal stability, and corrosion tests ensure compliance with ISO 9001
 
3. Usage Precautions
  • Avoid Mechanical Damage: Protect from sharp tools or excessive bending during installation
  • Chemical Resistance: While resistant to most acids/alkalis, avoid prolonged contact with strong oxidizers
  • Temperature Sensitivity: Ensure installation in dry conditions; avoid freezing/thawing cycles
